Zuzuroh Italian-Greek Taverna
There is no secret, really - only the dynamic team of Evert and his wife Margarita, who want to share their favorite Mediterranean recipes; introduce the freshest homegrown and homemade ingredients and present their dedicated staff members to the growing group of first-time and repeat customers. Reservations are highly recommended because the taverna is not getting any bigger. No rush is required at Zuzuroh. It's all about enjoying good company and great food here, try our Corvo Rosso from Sicily to merge Italian and Greek traditions, and top it all off with sweet bites of baklava or tiramisu. It's all smashingly good.

Abert, Margarite, and Lizzy Rock

Dec 11, 2014 - posted by
We spent a week at LaQuinta and the restaurant Zuzuroh was close by so we tried it. We loved it. The food was outstanding. Especially the Spaghetti Frommage.
We ate there 3 times and loved every minute of it. Lizzy was our waitress and was very helpful in picking out wine to go with dinner. It is a team of Abert, Margarite and Lizzy that make the dining experience so wonderful. It is a small restaurant so I would recommend reservations for sure. We enjoyed a drink at the bar before our table was ready. When we return to Aruba we will make this our first stop to see our friends and enjoy good food and drinks.

Really enjoyed the rack of lamb, eggplant parm & veal dishes
on our recent visit. Service and food were both great. Can't wait for next year!

Great Service and Great Food

We just ate at Zuzuroh's last week and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We had gone there numerous times last year on our holiday and it was excellent each time and this year it was great as well. The food was terrific, fresh and wonderfully presented. The servers were friendly and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. We'll be going back again before we go home!

Would Not Go Back

Feb 9, 2014 - posted by
I was excited to try Zuzuroh as the island is lacking good Italian restaurants. We had an 8:30 reservation and there were no tables available. We were not told how long we would have to wait so we took a seat by the bar. Well, we did not get seated until 10:00 and not one time during the entire wait did someone apologize to us or offer us a free drink or appetizer while we waited. The restaurant is only a year old and the husband and wife owner, while very nice people, do not seem to understand the nuances of how to run a successful restaurant.

As far as the food is concerned, it was ok. It was not outstanding nor was it bad. Needless to say, I will not be returning to give them a second chance as the food was not good enough to warrant me a return trip.

Fantastic Dinner

We loved the food, ambience and the service in December. The feta cheese and greek olives are the best. The tomato soup (Pommodore) was fantastic as were our entrees. See you in December again.

Love this place!

We've been to Zuzuroh twice now, and both times were wonderful. The first time, we had the mussels appetizer with marinara, feta and Greek olives, and it was amazing. When we went back, I asked for that appetizer as my entree over pasta, and they were happy to do it. It was just as amazing as the first time. Have also tried the grouper Venezia and the filet mignon, both were also very good. The prices here are very reasonable, the food and service are excellent. They will accommodate special requests. The owner is great, he came over to talk to us to make sure everything was good. We will definitely go back.

There everyday

We fell in love with this place and its owners. Evert and Margarita are fun and attentive. Over the week we tried most things on the menu as well as from the specials list and all were consistent and tasty. Evert introduced us to wines we drink now on a regular basis. We took friends often and they were just as impressed with the venue, the menu and the owners. Take your time and enjoy all this place has to offer.

Bummer

Nov 2, 2013 - posted by
We were both looking forward to trying Zuzuroh's, but were disappointed. DW had the Grouper & said it was OK (I can tell when DW is wowed by her entree and she wasn't wowed this time). I had the Veal Marsala, which turned out to be 2 very small tough pieces of meat (don't even think it was veal) in a balsamic reduction with a few slices of mushrooms. I also had the special Octopus appetizer which was 4 tough tenacles in some oil with very little lemon. Price was $129.15, which included 2 drinks and a bottle of wine. I really don't like to write negative reviews, but when I checked my Credit Card online - the amount was $139.15 instead of $129.15. I had left a $17.00 tip on the amount of $112.15 - looks like the $17 was changed to $27 - there was no way I would leave a 24% tip for this meal. I have to assume that the waiter was the culprit. Also, the A/C was not turned on - which did not make for a comfortable dining experience. Not going back.

FABULOUS, EXCELLENT, WONDERFUL, SUPERB, ETC.

Looks like we get to write the first review of this place and we are happy to do so. Food is fabulous. Service rises to the level of pampering. Presentation is as good as any. Environment is a little cramped, but that adds to the spirit of the place. If you have trouble finding the place - just remember that it is essentially behind Screaming Eagle. Also remember to personally (not through a concierge) make reservations before hand. In our opinion this place is the Wacky Wahoo of Italian/Greek food in Aruba (that should say it all) and it is something that is long overdue. Given the scope of the menu and the quality of preparation it is hard to see how anyone can come away from this place dissatisfied. This place single handedly gives good Aruban Italian dining credibility and raises hospitality to a new level along the way too. We suspect that many will be reluctant to write reviews for this place for fear of inundating it. We, on the other hand believe that quality deserves to be recognized and this place is top notch quality in every respect and it deserves even more than the traditional 10 points that can be given through this review mechanism. Go and have a great meal at very reasonable prices - oh, did I forget to mention that the prices are quite modest. GO AND ENJOY.
