El Gaucho
El Gaucho is located in an old townhouse at 80 Wilhelminastreet, it's the first Argentine restaurant to open it's doors in Aruba on February 17, 1977.

El Gaucho Restaurant serves a variety of tempting dishes, featuring quality Argentine steaks, tender and juicy, charcoal-grilled to perfection, such as the famous Gaucho steak, 16 oz sirloin, Pincho Torro Caliente (the biggest shishkebab ever served) T-bone steak, vealchop and more. While many restaurants are currently serving Churrasco steak, we must say that our version is the original and still the very best.

Was just at El Gaucho on July 24, 2008 and this was the best steak I ever had. We had a party of 8 and everyone had an excellent steak. They were alway refilling the water glasses and checking to see if everything was OK. I will never eat steak like this again in the US. Just another reason to go back to Aruba.

I just got back from my 4th trip to Aruba and EL Gaucho is still my favorite place to eat. The steaks are amazing. I go 2 to 3 times a week. Still number one among many fine restaurants.

This is, unquestionably, the finest restaurant on the isalnd. After, literally, hundreds of visits to this restaurant, I have never experienced anything less than a "9.5", on a "10" scale. Food, service, atmosphere. The best steak I have ever eaten. I love Ruth's chris in the States, but nothing compares. Even on the island, there are other Brazilian and Argentinean Steakhouses, but none compare. I reside several months each year on Aruba, frequent ALL the restaurants - el Gaucho is the best. BUT, make certain you make resevations. There is a reason the waits can be in the hours, without resevations. Great food, service, environment.

This was our third visit to El Gaucho and hadn't been for a couple of years. I had a couple of less than excellent visits in the past so we held off - my wife thought it was time to do it again - so we did. Excellent steak with decent (not world class) service in a slightly tacky atmosphere..! But that's OK - it was a great dining experience and better than I had expected. Knowing what to expect, I'd definately recommend this restaurant and I'd do it again. Good value for the money.

We ate at this restaurant on June 24th 2008. I went on recommendations from several friends. I was expecting a tourist trap and was pleasantly surprised. One of the best steaks I have ever had. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everybody.

My Fiancee and I recently ate here not once, but twice on our week-long trip to Aruba. I had the "Gaucho" Prime Sirloin Steak, which was easily bigger than the 16 oz. portion they state on the menu. My Fiancee had the Pork Tenderloin, which came in at about 22 oz. when stated as 12 oz. on the menu. The atmosphere was cozy, the service was on par and the food and portions were great!! The Sangria was decent, but could have been a bit sweeter, otherwise great value, great food and great service. We will definitely be back on our future return trips to Aruba.

We came to El Gaucho recently from NJ and I have to say it was an excellent choice. My husband and I had the "El Gaucho" steak and it was delicious. It was cooked to perfection, portion was more than enough and the menu is has something for everyone. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Aruba.
