El Gaucho
El Gaucho is located in an old townhouse at 80 Wilhelminastreet, it's the first Argentine restaurant to open it's doors in Aruba on February 17, 1977.

El Gaucho Restaurant serves a variety of tempting dishes, featuring quality Argentine steaks, tender and juicy, charcoal-grilled to perfection, such as the famous Gaucho steak, 16 oz sirloin, Pincho Torro Caliente (the biggest shishkebab ever served) T-bone steak, vealchop and more. While many restaurants are currently serving Churrasco steak, we must say that our version is the original and still the very best.

Favorite steakhouse of all-time. Tops Ruth Chris, Palm, Mortons, Shula's.

Very nice presentation of the food, great side orders and awesome steak.

Best eats on the island.

Normally one of our favorites year to year - Saturday night reservation, waited reasonable time, put in busy alley way table for 2 on corner - 15 minutes before waiter arrived (water boy excellent job and great personality) - meal arrived after one hour, waiter never came by to see how things were but stood at ordering station joking with others about people as they walked by - asked for check took another 20 minutes (still at computer station) - didn't have a care in the world. Had to go over to him and almost beg for check, said not made out yet. - Not enjoyable night.

My wife and I loved this place. The waiting time could be long but it is worth it. You can have a drink at the bar or you can walk across the restaurant to their lounge and listen to live music and have a few drinks while waiting for your table. The serving size is big so try to be careful with the appetizer; otherwise, you won’t be able to eat your entire meal. This place is great for a perfect evening.

Had another great dinner this year at El Gauchos. Our kids were falling asleep while we were waiting for a table, so they placed us at a table that was off the side of one of the restaurant areas. Very romantic and nicely decorated. Our oldest woke up in time to order. The food was as usual: Great! So was the service. We were even serenaded by the restaurant musicians, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, nothing could wake up my 6-year-old, not even the musicians. Guess we will have to go back next year!

We went here with a group of friends (total of 7 people) and everyone had the Gaucho steak which was great as always (tender with alot of flavor.) The wait staff did an exceptional job since we were a large table and there were other large tables around us as well - they were very friendly and attentive.

Sorely disappointed in the whole experience. El Gaucho is 98% hype. Wait staff barely spoke and had no personality. I've had more tender steak at home. The corn on the cob tasted like it had been sitting in water for 3 days. Best part of meal = sangria and after dinner mints. Don't waste your time.

This was one of our best meals of the trip. The El Gaucho Steak was great and the 16 oz. tenderloin was enjoyed by my dh. The presentation on the wooden plates was very nice. Since it was dh's birthday, the singers came over to serenade "Happy Birthday" to him. They also provided an absolutely wonderful dessert--deep fried cheesecake. It was our first time trying it and it was outstanding! I highly recommend this place for its food, atmosphere and service!!!
