El Gaucho
El Gaucho is located in an old townhouse at 80 Wilhelminastreet, it's the first Argentine restaurant to open it's doors in Aruba on February 17, 1977.

El Gaucho Restaurant serves a variety of tempting dishes, featuring quality Argentine steaks, tender and juicy, charcoal-grilled to perfection, such as the famous Gaucho steak, 16 oz sirloin, Pincho Torro Caliente (the biggest shishkebab ever served) T-bone steak, vealchop and more. While many restaurants are currently serving Churrasco steak, we must say that our version is the original and still the very best.

If your cholesterol is high or you just prefer lean beef, go elsewhere. But if you and your diet are on vacation, and you just want a fabulous steak, this is the place for you. We shared a bone-in rib-eye and it was wonderful. Service was warm and attentive. Atmosphere fit the menu perfectly.

Went there on thursday march 8
2007 and the whole staff was great
considering they had just gone through
a loss in the family ,my sympathy.
My wife and I had a pitcher of
sangria , salad, steak,applepie and
icecream. We should have walked back
to resort but we were too full so
we took a cab. This was our first time
there and definetly would go back.

Thank You to all at El Gaucho

Another year at El Gaucho and another year of having the best steak ever. Their El Gaucho Steak is phenomenal and the portions were more than enough. This is a must stop on any vacation.

Went there 3 years ago and had the best steak Ive ever tasted. Tried to go last year but they were closed for Health violations which is scary. I went this past week and hated it. The woman at the front acts like she is doing you a favor for serving you even though we had reservations for 3 months, we were rushed through ordering and the food was a disappointment to say the least (steak was dry, salad is not included anymore and the waiter ws rude. Guess I will go to Madam Jeanette's every night now.

We had read both positive and negative reviews about El Gaucho but wanted to try it. Had made reservations online way in advance of our arrival. The place was not full at all and I'm sure we wouldn't have needed a reservation. The food was not nearly as good as I had hoped it would be. Price is up there and I've had better steak from my local supermarket. I had the Gaucho steak and my husband had the Rib Eye.

We had dinner at El Gaucho on December 18, 2007. It was our third time at the restaurant. The food was good as usual. There was a group of 10 at a nearby table who were singing, screaming and pounding the table to the point where we could not carry on a conversation. Management did nothing to control this extremely rude behavior. Our repeated requests to the manager were met with: "they will be leaving soon." This refrain started when we ordered dinner and continued until we walked out without being able to order coffee or dessert.

Excellent steak. I had the Gaucho steak and it was really fantastic. They have a great cigar bar, Garufa, that is located across the street for you to relax in while you wait. A must try when you are in Aruba....

My husband and I went to El Gaucho for dinner because we had been there a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. This experience was not so good. After 1/2 hour we finally had to ask to see a menu--someone must have slipped up. I ordered chicken breast because I am not a beef eater and the waitress talked me out of it. So I had the catch of the day, Grouper, which was okay, but not remarkable. My husband was not impressed with his T-bone. However, our water glasses were always kept full. The atmosphere is nice; loved the cowhide on the booth benches.
