El Gaucho
El Gaucho is located in an old townhouse at 80 Wilhelminastreet, it's the first Argentine restaurant to open it's doors in Aruba on February 17, 1977.

El Gaucho Restaurant serves a variety of tempting dishes, featuring quality Argentine steaks, tender and juicy, charcoal-grilled to perfection, such as the famous Gaucho steak, 16 oz sirloin, Pincho Torro Caliente (the biggest shishkebab ever served) T-bone steak, vealchop and more. While many restaurants are currently serving Churrasco steak, we must say that our version is the original and still the very best.

The first time we went 3 years ago, everything was great but for the past 2 years it got worse and worse. The steaks were simply fatty and poor tasting.

*****U N B E L I E V A B L E !!! Though this to some may sound a little over-exaggerated, from my taste buds to your ears(and eyes)..I LOVE STEAK - and the best steak that I have eaten is at "El Gaucho's" in Aruba. The service, dessert, ambiance etc was all A+. But once that succulent taste hit I was not thinking about ambience anymore, just savouring a well flame seared piece of tenderly cooked meat.
El Gaucho, you are still at the top of my list and memories of a funtastic vacation amongst your very hospitable people. Thanks!
Regards, Mike

My friend and I went here several years ago and were disappointed. I decided to try it again. Well, we were disappointed again. For appetizers, we had the garlic shrimps which you had to peel off the shells. They were good but not great. We also had the conch which was not good at all. Since the Gaucho steak is their signature dish, I ordered that and my friend had the lamb chops. Both were very dry and taste like wood. The atmosphere was very nice, the service was a lot better this time but the food is really not that good. When I read reviews about how it's the best and juiciest steak that people ever had, I just laugh. If you're ever in NYC, go to Del Frisco's if you want a good steak. There are so many better restaurants on the island like Pago Pago or Madame Janette's.

Absolutely our favorite restaurant of all that we visited. The El Gaucho steak was as tender and as moist as could be. Service is outstanding, they really paid attention to every detail. The upstairs is cool to try and the downstairs is well decorated too. But make sure you get upstairs if you can. I wish they'd branch out into the US!

I don't know what it is about the cuts of meat in Aruba, but they are unlike anything we have in the US! El Gaucho is a steakhouse near downtown and it was delicious! They serve your meal on wooden plates, which is traditional in Argentina I think. Our waiter was great. The menu stated it would take time to prep our steaks the way we wanted, but they were out in record time! A must-go!!!

My wife and I visited Aruba for the first time last month. We heard alot of mixed revues about this place , but we went anyway and it was by far the best thing we did.I'm a true steak lover and believe me I know a good steak when I taste one.We both ordered their signature filet mignon and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. The wait staff were friendly and the service was great. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the night before we left Aruba. We're vacationing again in Aruba in November, and we will definitely go back to El Gaucho.......

We love Argentinian meet. While our steaks were good, the rib appetizer made our meal. It was also the first time I got my 10 year old to eat meat!

We also liked Tango.

Outstanding. Best meal that we had in Aruba. Very attentive, polite staff. Steak unlike any I have ever eaten. The Best!!! Left our all-inclusive to try this steak house, we will never do the all-inclusive again just so we can eat at places like this. A+++++
