El Gaucho

I have been here 4 times this year already!!!You can get steaks just about everywhere in aruba but this place just makes you want to come back for more.The sauces i cant get enough of.They had to roll me out!!!Writing this is making me hungry!!!

WERE HERE 7/25/05. AS GOOD AS EVERYONE CLAIMS. THERE WERE 8 OF US AND WE ALL ENJOYED OUR MEALS,SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE. SHISH KABOB(WELL ALL STEAKS REALLY) WERE GREAT AND DONE TO PERFECTION. THE SIDES AND SAUCES THAT WENT WITH THEM WERE REALLY GOOD TOO. JUST AN ENJOYABLE DINNER ALL AROUND.

You better be hungry if you're going here- the portions are HUGE.
The food is delicious- my husband and I both had the ELGaucho steak (a 16 oz. filet mignon)- it is served with 3 different sauces you can use-
a homemade steak sauce, a homemade garlic sauce, or pica- pickled onions.
Everything was great - even the creme brulee we had for dessert-
You have to go.

One of the best steaks you will ever have! Dinners all come with sides and 3 homemade sauces.Service was excellent as well. You will need a reservation for this place if you go!

The food was very good, except that the corn on the cob was mushy. Service was very prompt. Though it was good, I liked Texas de Brazil better because of all the different charcoal grilled meats that you get to try. If you are staying in Oranjestad, its a good choice. Have a reservation, its crowded. We had a reservation and waited about 1 minute to be seated. Otherwise you wait in the bar across the street.

I have never had a bad meal here.

The Gaucho Steak is HUGE and worth every penny!

Add a pitcher of Sangria (red OR white) and I'm in heaven!

Make a reservation, expect to wait a bit, but the steak is excellent and worth the wait. Remember, you're in Aruba so why such a rush?

Sorry, never ate here but heard good things...

I ordered a New York strip and my husband ordered Prime Rib. Both pieces were very large and completely cooked to our expectations. We sat upstairs, which looked like it had more ambiance than downstairs.

Great food, we would definitely go back again.

TOO MUCH HYPE!!! NOT WHAT IT'S CRACKED UP TO BE. WE HAD RESERVATIONS FOR 8:30 AND WE GOT THERE AT 8:00 THE HOSTESS WAS VERY RUDE SAID "WELL YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT TILL YOUR RESERVATIONS AT 8:30" WHICH WAS NO PROBLEM. SHE SENT US ACROSS THE STREET TO THEIR CIGAR BAR/LOUNGE. WE WERE THERE UNTIL 9:00 AND THEY SENT US BACK TO THE RESAURANT SAYING OUR RESERVATIONS WERE READY. WE WENT BACK TO THE HOSTESS AND SHE SAID OUR RESERVATIONS WEREN'T READY YET. WE SAT THERE FOR ANOTHER 1/2 HOUR FINALLY AT 9:30 WE AND A FEW OTHER COUPLES STARTED TO COMPLAIN AND WE WERE FINALLY GOT SEATED. AT 9:45 I WAS REALLY TIRED AND UPSET. OUR FOOD CAME FAIRLY FAST, IT WAS A VERY GOOD STEAK BUT OUR WAITER WAS SO BUSY HE ALL BUT FORGOT WE WERE EVEN THERE. VERY LOUD AND HECTIC RESTURANT. NOT A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED EVENING AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED. TWO THUMBS DOWN!!
