The Flying Fishbone was a great dining experience. The view was gorgeous, and we watched the sunset as we ate. The tables are in the sand right at the edge of the water. The food was excellent, the service excellent & the staff very friendly. The ambience was super. Great job to whoever runs this restaurant!

If you have the right reservation, you can dine with you feet in the surf. How cool is that? Being on the beach on the southwest side of the island, the sunset is -- of course -- right there. So, all of that is wonderful. That's environment and ambiance.

And then there's the food. No question, the best meal we had on Aruba. Speaking as minor foodies who live in New York City -- one of the world's great cities for restaurants -- we were quite happy with the food. Top quality ingredients, with imaginative recipes, well presented. We'd recommend the food, even were it in New York; it far outclassed the other food options on the island.

If you're in Aruba, this is where you should go.

my husband and I were in Aruba for two weeks. This is our second year in Aruba. Last year we were so smitten with the island we bought a two week time share to be sure we would be able to come back every year. After dining at Flying Fishbone we now will come back to this restaurant every year as well. It was a bit of a ride from Palm Beach and we had to detour around Oranjestad due to Carnival parade, but it was worth the ride. The food and service are excellent and the setting spectacular. Our best pictures from this vacation are of the sunset at Flying Fishbone. A must when you go to Aruba!!

This was our 5th visit to Flying Fishbone. Jan 21, 2010. The first 2 in 2006 and 2007 were fabulous. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Things have gone down hill from there. Last year and the year before we had the chef surprise cooked for 2. It was so awful that this year I refused to order it with my husband. I had the veal saltimboca this time which was dry and tough. My husband commented that his steak was too chewy. The mushroom soup was ok, nothing special. They seem to have added more tables which means you are sittinig very close to your neighbors on a tilted chair and table. Other than the sunset...go to Screaming Eagle, their sister restaurant, which was quite delicious.

My husband and I where in Aruba for our honeymoon and a friend of ours recommended we come here for dinner. I will NEVER forget this dinner as a long as I live. Had someone not told us about this place we never would have known about it and boy am I glad we were told about it. We had a 6:30 reservation which was a perfect time. The ride there was interesting because it is about 20 minutes from the actual hotels (and a $35 cab ride one way)and it is really in the middle of no where. Once we walked in we were absolutely blown away by how gorgeous it was. The food and service where amazing and I recommend this place to everyone I know that is going to Aruba!

I visited this restaurant & was very upset about the whole evening. It was my wifes and my last night at this awsome island and was ruined by the terrible service we received and watered down Aruba Ariba. I asked for some more water and 15 minutes later they came with it. Sorry but never again!!

I cant say enough good things about this place. My gf and I would rate it the number 1 most romantic dinner Ive ever had in my life. However, this is one of those restaurants that you wouldnt even know about if you havent done a little bit of research before getting to Aruba or the locals.. because its literally in the middle of nowhere. Its on the other side of the Airport near the Baby Beach, and is a $34 cab ride EACH WAY from the High Rise Resort Area. (Mariott, Hyatt, Westin, Holiday inn, Playa Linda etc...) Its a good 15 min ride without traffic. With that being said, just know your spending $70 on the ride there and back, and then dining at a fine establishment such as this..... you can expect to spend a total of @ $200 for this experience.... but it is worth every penny. If you are not into spending that type of money, theres plenty of other options.... but if you want to dine at one of the nicest places you have ever been to, and the #1 Rated place in Aruba... then make sure you dont miss this place.

I suggest making your reservation for around 6:00-6:15, because there is a sunset that is to die for there. You can watch the sun set right from your table as the water trickles up onto your feet. You dine right on the beach, so you actually take off your shoes. The tables are romanticly setup with white linen and candles etc... Its a very limited seating, so its very intimate.

The Presentation of the food was excellent. The food itself as far as taste was Excellent. Very fresh ingredients, and great flavor. The menu was already online, so we knew what we were going into. We got salad and Calimari for appetizers. Both were great. For dinner, I had a special Beef Tenderloin, my gf got the most popular dish which was some sort of shrimp casserole bakd in a cheese sauce.... both were AWESOME... Dessert we had the fresh Dutch Apple Pie with ice Cream which was a great ending to a great meal.

For each table, the waiter actually has the hostess call your cab to come get you right before you get dessert, so when you are finished, your cab ride is waiting for you to take you back to your resort (which was really nice).

Everyone at the restaurant was friendly and cordual, and always willing to take pictures of you and your loved ones. However, I dont suggest bringing children to this place, its really geared toward adults, and keeping a tranquil and romantic setting. So, make sure you make your reservation ahead of time online, and try to get it for around 6:15PM. Ask to sit near close to the water... the tables in the very front- your feet are actually geting wet, all others are on the beach close to the water, but not in it. Hope this helps sway your decision toward visiting The Flying Fishbone, because when we go back, this place is number one onour list!!

The Flying Fishbone is definitely worth visiting! The ambiance is wonderful! We love sitting outside with our feet in the sand, the whole atmosphere is very serene. The food is amazing -- I recommend the lobster salad and the sea bass entree. The service was great too! Highly recommended!
