I hate to do this, but here goes! Flying Fishbone used to be one of our favorite resturants in Aruba. Yes, the setting is the best. What more can you ask for when it comes to atmosphere to have dinner while watching the sun set with a cruise ship framed in the setting sun! OMG, how romantic. My wife and I brought our friends there last month while on their 1st visit to Aruba. They couldn't believe the view and the fact the resturant was in the sand. Speaking of sand, it is about time to truck in some sand so that the tables are somewhat level. Not one of our party of 4 were able to sit straight up, my buddy and his wife kept trying to level out their chairs. When our drinks were placed on our table we all lost some "fluid" due to the table top being lobsided....I won't get into the dinners rolling away from us. We had salads and soups 1st which were good, not great. When it was time for the main entre there were three shrinp dishes that were good but VERY small for the money charged. The other meal was a beef entre that was once again good, but not great. My buddy's wife who has a small appetite mentioned that she was thrilled that the portions were on the small size!
Anyway Flying Fishbone, you should step back to the plate, you have a lot of compitition out there. Dinner for 4 with a few drinks for $375.00 US and we were still hungry (at least 3 of us were).

This was probably our 10th visit to Flying Fishbone. We love this place and have taken friends and family who now feel the same. The blue-cheese mushroom and shrimp casserole is to die for ... a must try if you like blue cheese. This year I tried the avocado salad and it was beyond superb .. I will add a photo later if this system allows me. It was fabulous. The wine was great but the poured portions small for the price. I needed to order an extra glass to get through the meal. This is one of the best spots on the island for a beautiful sunset (skies permitting), so make reservations around 6:00. While the sand and sea ambience is unique and great .. the seating was somewhat uncomfortable because it was not "level" ... due to the slope of the beach .. we didn't recall that being the case in years past.

It was everything that we had hoped for; great food, attentive wait staff, and, of course, that fantastic ambiance! Our entrees were perfectly prepared and very tasty. There was a brief shower during dinner, which the waiter apologized for... several times. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back when on-island.

We celebrate our wedding anniversay every year at the Flying Fishbone. This restaurant is a shining star among many good restaurants in Aruba. Not only is the food delicious but they are so friendly and accomodating. They opened the deck for us which is usually closed unless they have an overflow. We have a special table up on the deck and we watched the sun set and danced - something we could not have done in the sand. The Flying Fishbone has a special place in our hearts and we will celebrate with them as long as we are able. Thank you for a romantic and memorable evening and for your hospitality. We are ONE HAPPY COUPLE!

Not worthy a shlap. Our waiter was nice but rather lost; we ordered a bottle of wine - in 15 minutes got a glass. I wanted to order lamb, but it was not available; I got a shrimp casserole instead that was tasty, but too heavy to my likings. The rest of my family was not too impressed with their food as well. Sittings are too tight. Ocean of course is beautiful as anywhere on the island (if you are facing it). There are better choices.

We've been coming back to Fishbone every year and as always we are never dissapointed! Food is always delicious, staff friendly and accomodating and toes in the sand (and even the water's edge) is so relaxing. Hard to say goodbye! Til next year...

Every couple of years we venture back to the Fishbone. We have decided to give it up. The food is okay, but not exceptional compared to other places, the atmosphere is nice, but sometimes it gets very loud, the service is satisfactory, but not overly happy and friendly, it just doesn't cut it anymore. There are lots of places to eat at the water's edge now, so that appeal isn't such a big deal anymore. They have to revamp their menu. It's been the same for years.

Every trip to Aruba includes a dinner at sunset at Flying Fishbone. It has everything we look for in a dining experience: Beautiful, cozy atmosphere on a small private beach; consistently great appetizers (lobster bisque with large chunks of lobster meat is a must) and seafood entrees(Savanetta Seafood History is my favorite); a wonderful wine list(and fantastic martinis); and an attentive wait staff. Other restaurants in Aruba have been inconsistent over the years, but FF remains our #1.
