I cant say enough good things about this place. My gf and I would rate it the number 1 most romantic dinner Ive ever had in my life. However, this is one of those restaurants that you wouldnt even know about if you havent done a little bit of research before getting to Aruba or the locals.. because its literally in the middle of nowhere. Its on the other side of the Airport near the Baby Beach, and is a $34 cab ride EACH WAY from the High Rise Resort Area. (Mariott, Hyatt, Westin, Holiday inn, Playa Linda etc...) Its a good 15 min ride without traffic. With that being said, just know your spending $70 on the ride there and back, and then dining at a fine establishment such as this..... you can expect to spend a total of @ $200 for this experience.... but it is worth every penny. If you are not into spending that type of money, theres plenty of other options.... but if you want to dine at one of the nicest places you have ever been to, and the #1 Rated place in Aruba... then make sure you dont miss this place.
I suggest making your reservation for around 6:00-6:15, because there is a sunset that is to die for there. You can watch the sun set right from your table as the water trickles up onto your feet. You dine right on the beach, so you actually take off your shoes. The tables are romanticly setup with white linen and candles etc... Its a very limited seating, so its very intimate.
The Presentation of the food was excellent. The food itself as far as taste was Excellent. Very fresh ingredients, and great flavor. The menu was already online, so we knew what we were going into. We got salad and Calimari for appetizers. Both were great. For dinner, I had a special Beef Tenderloin, my gf got the most popular dish which was some sort of shrimp casserole bakd in a cheese sauce.... both were AWESOME... Dessert we had the fresh Dutch Apple Pie with ice Cream which was a great ending to a great meal.
For each table, the waiter actually has the hostess call your cab to come get you right before you get dessert, so when you are finished, your cab ride is waiting for you to take you back to your resort (which was really nice).
Everyone at the restaurant was friendly and cordual, and always willing to take pictures of you and your loved ones. However, I dont suggest bringing children to this place, its really geared toward adults, and keeping a tranquil and romantic setting. So, make sure you make your reservation ahead of time online, and try to get it for around 6:15PM. Ask to sit near close to the water... the tables in the very front- your feet are actually geting wet, all others are on the beach close to the water, but not in it. Hope this helps sway your decision toward visiting The Flying Fishbone, because when we go back, this place is number one onour list!!
